FORE FOOT

Symptoms in this part of the foot are commonly related to bunions or other toe deformities. Simple conditions such as ingrowing toe nails or nerve inflammation can also be experienced.

Mid Foot

These may include injuries to the bones in the centre of the foot. Symptoms may be due to stress fractures from running or falling from a height on to your feet. People who suffer from rheumatoid arthritis may also have pains associated with this part of their feet requiring assessment and treatment. People with flat feet may also exhibit midfoot problems

Hind Foot

These are less common but can lead to significant discomfort during day to day activities. Sprains around the tendons in the back of your foot and up to the ankle can lead to collapse of the arch as well as pain along the structures. Again those with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis may have problems with the larger joints in the back of the foot and these may require surgical intervention if not responsive to non-surgical management.

Ankle Conditions

These are commonly due to sprains around the ligaments and tendons on both sides of your ankle. Supporting these and ensuring there is appropriate control during recover is paramount. The use of imaging techniques such as x-rays and MRI scans may be used to ensure the clinician can accurately identify the affected soft tissue or bony structures.
